Mathura or Brajbhoomi is a synonym of lord Shri Krishna. Mathura is located on the bank of river Yamuna and approx. 145 KM from the capital of India, New Delhi. A huge number of festivals, fairs, Bhagwat Kathas, Sant Sammelan take place in all the nearby areas of Mathura like Vrindavan, Govardhan, Gokul, Baldev, Barsana, Nandgaon called as Brajbhoomi. Now a day’s this whole area of Brajbhoomi has been converted a most religious place upon earth. The most famous temple in Mathura is the Shri Krishan Janam Sthan and another one is Dwarkadheesh temple where a huge number of devotees assemble from all over the globe throughout the year.

Brajbhoomi basically divided into two different parts – The eastern unit – includes Gokul, Mahavan, Baldeo, Mant and Bajna and the western unit of Yamuna covering the Mathura area includes Vrindavan, Govardhan, Kusum Sarovar, Radha Kund, Barsana and Nandgaon. The Brajbhoomi starts from Kotban near Kosikalan approx. 95 KM from the capital of India and ends at Runkuta, known for the birth place of poet Surdas a Lord Krishna follower. Each and every step of Brajbhoomi is packed in timeless devotion of lord Krishna.

To make efficient to Braj darshan in a religious way every year in Oct/Nov ISKON keeps on a Braj Mandal Parikrama. This one month Braj Yatra walks through all 12 vans in Vrindavan and passes through major places in Brajbhoomi including Mathura, Radha Kund, Varsana. Vrindavan, Gokul, Varsana, Govardhan Parvat, Nandgaon. Although shoes are allowed but it is religious matter to take this Braj Yatra barefoot.
